Position Overview
We are seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to support and expand WAFER’s digital presence. This role focuses on increasing audience engagement, building community awareness, and driving online donations through strategic and compelling content. The ideal candidate is passionate about social impact, storytelling and leveraging social platforms to inspire action.
Qualifications:
- Candidates should be pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or Nonprofit management or related field
- Strong written communication and storytelling skills
- Working knowledge of major social media platforms and industry best practices
- Basic knowledge of design tools (Adobe, Canva, etc.) is a plus
- Passion for nonprofit work and community impact
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able handle multiple tasks
- High degree of integrity, strong work ethic and honesty
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to participate in Marketing and Development Committees
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with social media analytics tools
- Basic video editing skills
- Ability to adapt tone and messaging to varied audiences
Hours and Pay:
- 10 hours per week, flexible hours with remote options
- $15 per hour
